2017 Texas Counselor Updates Coming in September

The University of Texas at Austin is teaming up again this year with Texas A&M University to offer high school counselors the latest information about admissions and academics at the state’s two largest universities. Although the number of Texas Counselor Updates remains the same, this year’s schedule is compressed into two weeks in September.

Visit the Event Schedule to find out when we’ll be in your area and to register. To assure widespread participation, registration for each even is limited to two representatives per school or organization.

Rank Needed for 2019-20 Automatic Admission Coming in September

Again this year, The University of Texas at Austin will announce the rank needed for automatic admission for current juniors. The announcement is expected no later than September 15, 2017.

By that date, UT Austin’s president will send a letter announcing the rank to the Texas Education Agency Commissioner. As soon as the decision is made, the Office of Admissions will post the rank on the Admission Decisions page.

Automatic admission is available to Texas applicants who complete their applications for admission by the deadline and who meet the other requirements explained in Texas’ Uniform Admission Policy.
