UT Austin and the Coalition Application

UT Austin has joined the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success, and we do plan to accept the Coalition’s application beginning with summer/fall 2019.

But because we are new to the Coalition, we are still working out the extent to which we will use the site’s application and resources. Students who decide to use the Coalition application should be aware of a few things.

First Fall 2018 Freshman Admission Offers to Majors

Some fall 2018 freshman applicants to The University of Texas at Austin will soon get the news they’ve been waiting for. The Office of Admissions plans to deliver about 1,000 admission offers to academic majors on the afternoon of Friday, November 17. Some of these students will also learn that they have been selected to receive Texas Advance scholarships, including Presidential Scholars and University Leadership Network awards.

UT Austin Application Information for Students Affected by Harvey

2017 Texas Counselor Updates Coming in September

The University of Texas at Austin is teaming up again this year with Texas A&M University to offer high school counselors the latest information about admissions and academics at the state’s two largest universities. Although the number of Texas Counselor Updates remains the same, this year’s schedule is compressed into two weeks in September.

Visit the Event Schedule to find out when we’ll be in your area and to register. To assure widespread participation, registration for each even is limited to two representatives per school or organization.

Rank Needed for 2019-20 Automatic Admission Coming in September

Again this year, The University of Texas at Austin will announce the rank needed for automatic admission for current juniors. The announcement is expected no later than September 15, 2017.

By that date, UT Austin’s president will send a letter announcing the rank to the Texas Education Agency Commissioner. As soon as the decision is made, the Office of Admissions will post the rank on the Admission Decisions page.

Automatic admission is available to Texas applicants who complete their applications for admission by the deadline and who meet the other requirements explained in Texas’ Uniform Admission Policy.
