13th Annual Louis C. Littlefield Celebrating Pharmacy Research Excellence Day

The 13th Annual Louis C. Littlefield Celebrating Pharmacy Research Excellence (Research Day) event is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy (COP) during the university’s research week. This event is free and open to the public. It highlights the research accomplishments of all researchers associated with the COP including undergraduates, Pharm.D. students, honor students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents and Faculty.
Keynote Scientific Lecture – John W. Kozarich, Ph.D.
Dr. Kozarich is internationally known for his work on enzyme mechanisms and on the chemistry of DNA cleaving antitumor drugs. Dr. Kozarich is currently Chairman & President of ActivX and Chief Scientific Advisor for Kyorin. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Chemical Physiology at The Scripps Research Institute, a Director of Corium International, in Menlo Park, CA, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in San Diego.
Distinguished Faculty Lecture – Robert O. Messing, Ph.D.
Dr. Messing is Professor in the Division of Pharmacology & Toxicology and Associate Dean for Research in the Dell Medical School. He is internationally recognized for his research deciphering signaling pathways and circuits that regulate behavior in rodent models of addiction, anxiety, and depression. The long-term goal of his work is to identify drug targets for treating neuropsychiatric disorders.

Research Day is held at the Student Activity Center (2201 Speedway). All presentations will be held in the Legislative Assembly Room (2.302), and poster sessions will be held in the Ballroom (2.410).
