The 14th Annual Louis C. Littlefield Celebrating Pharmacy Research Excellence (Research Day) event is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy (COP) during the university’s research week. This event is free and open to the public. It highlights the research accomplishments of all researchers associated with the COP including undergraduates, Pharm.D. students, honor students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents and Faculty.


2018 Speakers

Keynote Scientific Lecture – Kenneth S. Ramos, M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.B.

Dr. Ramos, MD, PhD, PharmB, is associate vice president for precision health sciences at the University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS), where he is responsible for developing precision health strategies and approaches to health outcomes and health care delivery. He is professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, and director of the Center for Applied Genetics and Genomic Medicine and the MD PhD Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tucson. Dr. Ramos is an accomplished physician scientist and transformational leader, designated as an associate of the National Academy of Sciences in 2008 and elected to the National Academy of Medicine (formerly known as the Institute of Medicine) in 2015. He has vast depth of experience across the tripartite mission areas of education, research and clinical service, and he is recognized throughout the world for his scientific contributions in the areas of genomics, precision medicine, environmental health sciences and toxicology.

Distinguished Faculty Lecture – John G. Kuhn, Pharm.D. 

Dr. Kuhn is Emeritus Professor in the Division of Pharmacotherapy. Research in the Kuhn laboratory is concentrated on deriving information related to the clinical pharmacology of anticancer agents.

Research Day is held at the Student Activity Center (2201 Speedway). All presentations will be held in the Legislative Assembly Room (2.302), and poster sessions will be held in the Ballroom (2.410).
