Helpful Tip of the Week
The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is a university sponsored organization on campus tasked with being the official liaison between the student body and University Health Services. This year, SHAC is raising money for the university’s STI Testing Fund. This fund provides UT students with access to free STI testing. As part of their efforts, SHAC is planning to host a university-wide pageant in the Spring called Model Healthyhorn.
If you’re interested in representing ALDPES in this pageant, email utadlpes@gmail.com. Or, if you’d like to take advantage of UT’s STI testing you can make an appointment here!

Other Things
Scrapbook
We are always working on the scrapbook for ALDPES. If you attend any event this semester or cherish a specific meeting speaker/ice breaker, email ALDPES your pictures and captions!
UTALDPES Follow Train
If you follow @TXALDPES on Twitter you can earn a half point. You can also earn a half point for following txaldpes on Instagram. Put them both together, and you earn yourself a whole point! Just email our account with your usernames during the last few weeks of class.
T-shirts
Shirts are available from sizes Small-3XL for $15 each, we accept cash and Venmo, and if you would like to use Square there is an additional fee ($15.42). (Sadly, only treasurers can accept cash, but any officer can take check or credit card.)
Wearing a shirt to any event will earn you an extra point, so these help a lot in becoming active.
Graduation Cords
If you’re really ahead of the game, cords are $26 for active members and $36 for inactive members (this is for both ALD and PES; individually cords are $13 for active members and $18 for inactive members). Come by any office hours to purchase with cash, card, or Venmo. (Remember cash can only be accepted at the Treasurers’ office hours though!)
Points
Points are here! Points will be updated once a week, so don’t panic if your points haven’t shown up and it’s only been a few days. If you have any issues with the points sheet, just email the ALDPES account and include “Points” in the subject of the email.
We will be adding people to the sheet as you earn points; you won’t be on the sheet if you haven’t earned any points yet.
Point Policies
- To be active old members need 12 points, new members need 9 points
- Of your points, in order to be considered an active member, you must have the following:
– At least 1 service point (i.e. you must attend at least one service event)
– At least 1 social point (i.e. you must attend at least one social event)
– At least 1 miscellaneous point (we recommend study hours or workshops, but a separate social or service event can count as well)
