Job Opportunities for Graduates with DK Education in China

One of our graduates, Savannah Campbell, is working with DK Education in China and has sent us some information about job opportunities there. DK Education is currently recruiting new SAT and ESL instructors for April and July start dates.

Background of DK Education

DK Education is primarily foused on SAT Prep instruction and is based in Beijing with additional offices in Zhengzhou, Changsha, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Ningbo, and Guangzhou. We focus on teaching the test from an American perspective to better prepare students for academic life at a University in the United States. We do not teach “tricks and gimmicks” but instead we focus on building academic fundamentals through an “ESL and Test Prep” all in one approach.

Position Details

SAT Full Time Positions (Available in Beijing, Changsha, and Zhengzhou starting in April)

1. 12,000 RMB/month

2. Work Visa provided

3. Free accommodation or housing allowance (first-tier cities: 1500 RMB/month; Second-tier cities: 1000 RMB/month)

4. Airfare bonus worth 10,000 RMB upon completion of a one-year contract

5. 87 teaching hours per month/40 working hours per week; Any teaching hours which exceed that will be paid additionaly as 200 RMB/hour

6. Class size: no more than 20 students

7. Opportunities for promotion to leadership positions for teachers who stay more than one year

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

We hope you will join Voices Against Violence (VAV) in our efforts to confront interpersonal violence at UT and beyond this April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

All of our events are free and open to the public.  The full calendar is attached and also available on Facebook:  http://www.facebook.com/events/278861572245236/ We would love for you to help us spread the word by promoting these events to your friends and colleagues.

We will launch Sexual Assault Awareness Month on Monday, April 1st with the poster campaign, “No One’s Asking for It.”  The following afternoon there will be a lunch performance of Get Sexy. Get Consent with free food in the TX Union 3.128, Sinclair Suite.

On Weds, April 3rd, we invite our community to gather on the Main Mall at 6:30pm for Take Back the Night.

Take Back the Night is an annual gender-inclusive event to illuminate the movement to end sexual violence.  This interactive event provides a safe space for survivors and allies to express themselves and connect with support.  There will be free food, performances, t-shirts, an interactive visual art display, resources from on- and off-campus organizations and an open mic for survivors to share their stories.  Facebook event here:  https://www.facebook.com/events/127120834136726/
