Identify student organizations related to academic, career, and/or personal interests and join at least one

Did you know that involvement in student organizations can help you in future career pursuits? According to Cindy Braly, an administrator working with Student Organizations, “Leadership in a student organization can give students real life experience…..with event planning, interpersonal communication, budgets, managing a large bureaucracy, conducting meetings, and crisis management.” Getting involved will allow you to make connections between what goes on inside and outside the classroom. Students who get the most out of college find a way to explore their interest in a topic either through their coursework or through co-curricular involvement. There’s over 900 registered student organizations at UT – check out their database and you’ll likely something that matches your interests.
