UT Entrepreneurship Week (UTEWeek) provides a SXSW interactive-type experience to students over the course of five days. Each day includes a variety of panels, workshops, and other events designed to expose students to entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity.

DAY 1 – Monday 2/27

Dropout Lunch & Learn
We’re kicking off #UTEWeek with a panel featuring Austin-based entrepreneurs who abandoned the classroom to work on their dreams full time. Come hear stories from the founders of Favor Delivery, Mutual Mobile, and GroupThreads (previously Texas Custom Apparel). Free lunch will be served!

She Started It Screening – Herb Kelleher Center
Join us for an exclusive screening of She Started It, a documentary following 5 women entrepreneurs as they power full steam ahead into the startup world empowering the next generation of women founders.

SNAP Kitchen CMO
Tressie Lieberman, Chief Marketing Officer at Snap Kitchen, a UT alumnus, will be giving a presentation on Intrapeneurship vs. Entrepreneurship and will be sharing her experience transitioning from a senior position at a large company (Taco Bell) to a smaller startup.

Startup Office Hours
Here’s your chance to meet Bob Metcalfe, Louise Epstein, Mark McDermott and many professors who’ve started their own businesses. Did we mention – Central Market catering for Breakfast?

When the Ball Goes Flat: Student-Athletes Turned Entrepreneurs
Sanya Richards-Ross??? (Executive Producer, Glam and Gold)???, Selvin Young (Owner, Custom Food Truck Builders), and Drew Gressett??? (Founder, Hat Creek Burgers) return to ???the 40 Acres to ???discuss entrepreneurship with Daron K. Roberts, Founding Director of ???Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation.

Houseparty: A Conversation With CEO & Co-Founder Ben Rubin
CEO and Co-Founder of Houseparty (formerly Meerkat) Ben Rubin will come to campus to share his thoughts on live video, his unique launch strategy, and more. This conversation will be moderated by Fitz Tepper, a reporter at TechCrunch.

DAY 3 – Wednesday 3/1

Freshman Founders Demo Day
Free Maudies! 20 Freshman Founders will pitch the ventures that they have been working on since the Fall semester. What’s at stake? A 3 month coworking membership at Capital Factory. Best of all, there will be Maudie’s TexMex provided! Come by and support the Founders and cheer for your favorite pitches. Judged by: Bob Metcalfe, JD Weinstein, Louise Epstein, Rick Orr, Josh Alexander.
11:00am to 1pm – SAC 2.302 (Legislative Assembly Room)

Virtual Reality Lab with Samsung VR
This is your chance to experience VR and 360 Video content from local Austin VR startups, ranging from gaming to film, concerts, education, and more. Through this event, we aim to expose hundred of students creators, developers, filmmakers, and artists to VR as an exciting path for entrepreneurship.
5:00pm – SAC 2.304 (Black Box Theater)

Rooster Teeth Panel
Rooster Teeth began in 2003 with 5 guys who wanted to make videos about Halo. Now, Rooster Teeth is a 250+ person company with over 25 million subscribers, a full length movie, multiple video games, and more. The panel will include: Matt Hullum (CEO), Burnie Burns (CCO), Chris Demaris (Head Writer for Live Action), Barbara Dunkelman (Director of Social and Community Marketing), Lindsay Jones (Achievement Hunter/ Actor)

DAY 4 – Thursday 3/2

Social Entrepreneurship Panel
Whether it’s non-profit or for-profit, founding a company based on social good is more than just a trend. It’s changing our perspective on how organizations can give back. Stephen Garten – Founder of Charity Charge, Tim and Agatha Scott – Co-Founders of Mitscoots Outfitters, Ian Stanely – Founder of Fixt Water.
