Our events this year will showcase distinguished faculty who are leaders in their fields both on and off campus. On Monday, September 24, we will focus on psychology and growth mindset. On Tuesday, September 25, we will have a unique opportunity to watch and listen to two former UT Austin presidents discuss the major turning points in their lives that lead them to their important positions on campus. More detailed information about the lectures can be found below and on our web site at http://www.utexas.edu/ugs/uls.
We designed each event to help new students appreciate the value of research, critical thinking, and leadership at a major research university, as well as how the creation of new knowledge and ways of thinking is just as important to higher education as teaching what is already known.
The University Lecture Series is open free of charge to the general public, as well as all staff, faculty, and students at the university—bring a friend!
