Panel: Engaging Frontline Pharmacists in Antimicrobial Stewardship
Dr. Jason Bowling is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at UT Health San Antonio. In addition to seeing patients, his work has involved hospital epidemiology, infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and medical education. He is the Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director for Infection Prevention and the Co-Director for the Antimicrobial Stewardship team at University Health System. He serves as a consultant for Hill Country Memorial Hospital, providing antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, and infectious diseases consults via telemedicine. He holds an appointment at Texas Biomedical Research Institute, which maintains an active biosafety level 4 laboratory, where he serves as a consultant on infection prevention and clinical infectious diseases. He is actively involved in medical education, including serving as the module co-director for the first year medical student foundational module covering medical microbiology, immunology, and applicable pharmacology. He has provided presentations on a variety of infectious diseases topics as an invited speaker at local, state, and national conferences.
