Presentation: Caring for Hospitalized Patients with Dementia
Lisa Geshell, MSN, RN, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar, is interested in improving advance care planning in people with early dementia. Due to her experience working with a geriatric population, Geshell is passionate aboutproviding appropriate, high quality care to older adults that respects their autonomy and protects their dignity.
She earned her BSN from Arizona State University and her MSN from The University of Texas at Austin
Geshell has served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate and alternate-entry masters students at The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Nursing since 2015. Previously, she worked as a nurse on the progressive care unit and step-down unit at Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth, Texas where she earned her PCCN. Geshell started her career as a registered nurse at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, Arizona.
Geshell lives in Austin, Texas.
