Since completing her education at The University of Texas at Austin, Neesha Thakkar holds the position of Residency Program Director at St. David’s Medical Center. Her responsibilities include establishing a pharmacy residency program for two PGY1 pharmacist residents and ensuring the success of programatic requirements by ASHP, with the goal of accreditation. She also holds the role of Pharmacy Clinical Manager at St. David’s Medical Center where she oversees clinical pharmacy services for a 438 bed hospital with multiple speciality service lines.
Neesha is currently working on her CDC Antimicrobial Stewardship Certification and completed SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Certification in 2014. She has been a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) since 2010.
Neesha Thakkar is currently the Pharmacists and Antimicrobial Stewardship Representative for the Travis County Health Department Carapenem Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) Taskforce. She has been a member of the planning committee and is the 2019 Chair for the UT College of Pharmacy Hospital Practice Seminar.
