Dr. Jacquelyn Navarrete graduated from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy in 2009 and completed a Community Pharmacy Practice Residency with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in conjunction with Walgreens Co., in Boston, MA in 2010.
After residency, Dr. Navarrete moved back to El Paso, TX with her family to become part of the University of Texas at El Paso College of Health Sciences: Cooperative Pharmacy Program and The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy where she is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Pharmacist-In-Charge of the UTEP Student Health Center.
She teaches several pharmacy courses including Experiential Pharmacy Practice and Patient Counseling as well as contributes to the Pharmacotherapy lecture series in the UTEP/UT Austin Cooperative Pharmacy Program.
She has been involved with several patient-centered services including immunization and Medication Therapy Management (MTM). She has also received her teaching certification in both immunization and MTM through the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
Recently she was nominated and awarded the APhA Immunization Champion Award-Partnership Category National Winner for 2012-2013. Her short-term goal is to provide pharmacy services for faculty and staff and to bill private insurance to bill for pharmacy services, including Medication Therapy Management.
Her current research interests are Human Papillomavirus vaccination in the university student population and women’s health. She is also the Association Director of the El Paso Pharmacy Association and has actively participated in the El Paso Immunization Coalition Steering Committee.
