Presentation: Bad Bugs, No Drugs – Trending Topics in Infectious Diseases
Bio: Dr. Verheyden graduated with his doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. After graduation, he completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and a PGY2 residency in infectious diseases at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. He is now the Division Director of Infectious Diseases Pharmacy for the North Texas and Oklahoma division of HCA and supports 14 hospitals in their antibiotic stewardship and infectious diseases endeavors.
Dr. Verheyden has spoken at the state and national level and is involved in training the next generation of clinical pharmacists by precepting students from several colleges of pharmacy. In 2016 he was awarded the adjunct preceptor of the year from Texas Tech College of Pharmacy. He lives in Dallas with his wife Jen and their two dogs, Murphy and Atlas.
