Dr. Victoria Latifses is a licensed psychologist and forensic evaluator in Austin, Texas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Women’s Studies from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA, and a master’s and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA. From 2005-2011, she was a Spanish-speaking psychologist in the Child, Adolescent & Family Services Clinic at San Fernando Mental Health Center for Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Latifses served as an on-call clinician delivering emergency crisis response for adult services and on one of the first Full-Service Partnership (FSP) teams in LA County. In 2011, she had a wonderful opportunity to return to Austin, Texas where she grew up, and came home as the Director of Psychology at Austin State Hospital. The psychology department services include the forensic psychology competency restoration program, competency to stand trial evaluations, risk assessments, neuropsychological assessment, unit-based psychology services such as individual/group therapy and general psychological assessment, and BCBA services. The psychology department trains second and third year practicum doctoral students in general and forensic psychology. The ASH Psychology Department staff look forward to partnering with the University of Texas- Dell Medical School ASH Brain Health System Redesign project.
