Academic Job: Lecturer in Russian (U. of Wisconsin)

The Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic of the University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks to fill a vacancy for a Lecturer in Russian for Fall 2017, with the possibility of extension to Spring 2018. Course load is 3 courses per semester. Salary commensurate with experience. In Fall 2017 the successful candidate will teach the following courses: Vladimir Nabokov: Russian and American Writings [in English]; History of Russian Culture [in Russian, for students above the level of fourth-year Russian]; and Third-Year Russian. Ph.D. in hand strongly preferred, but ABD applicants will be considered. Native or near-native proficiency in both Russian and English is expected. Previous teaching experience at a North American university required, including at least one year of experience teaching Russian as a Foreign Language.
