The Center for Social Sciences announces a call for international conference “Performing Europeanization: the Case of Georgia and Other EaP Countries”

The conference will focus on the three interconnected topics, which consist of (though are not limited to) the following themes:

EU’s enlargement strategy – Opportunities and Challenges

  • EU integration and enlargement: EU’s structural diplomacy
  • EU-Russia contested space and securitization of EU’s foreign policy
  • EU enlargement and Europeanization: conditionality vs. socialization

Eastern Partnership – Current Developments and Future Expectations

  • Europeanization and a new way of doing politics in the EaP countries
  • Impact of Europeanization on national public spheres
  • National identities in the context of Europeanization: ambiguity and perceived threats

EU-Georgia Relations

  • EU-Georgia Association Agreement: Lessons learned and opportunities created
  • Visa Liberalization and its impact on education, culture, and economy
  • Performing Europeanization in Georgia at the political and popular levels

The conference is organized within the framework of “Raising Awareness on Georgia’s Europeanization in Academia” [RAGEA] with the co-funding of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Activities.
