Job Description
The Missouri University of Science and Technology invites applications for the Maxwell C. We seek candidates with exceptional scholarly credentials in any humanistic field.

Qualifications: Applicants must be active scholars and teachers at the rank of associate or full professor.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in any humanities area; rank of associate or full professor.
Highly accomplished record of research and teaching preferred.

Responsibilities:  The Weiner Professor will be in residence in Rolla between August 2018 and May 2019.  Over the academic year, he or she will present two public lectures, lead a seminar for early-career faculty in the humanities on our campus, and teach one semester-long undergraduate course.

Questions should be directed to Dr. Kate Drowne at kdrowne@mst.edu, although applications (consisting of CV and cover letter) must be submitted directly to our Human Resource Office at http://hr.mst.edu/careers/.

We have three humanities departments at Missouri S&T: Arts, Languages, and Philosophy; English & Technical Communication; and History & Political Science. These departments collaborate on research projects, grants, and teaching. Together, we have recently founded the new Center for Science, Technology, and Society http://csts.mst.edu/, which brings together scholars from across campus to share ideas about the impact of science and technology upon society, culture, and the environment. The Weiner Professor would be encouraged to participate in the CSTS and other cross-campus activities. Generous salary is provided, commensurate with background and experience.

Missouri S&T is one of the nation’s leading research universities. Located about 100 miles west of St. Louis in the community of Rolla, Missouri S&T is an accessible, safe and friendly campus surrounded by Ozarks scenery. Missouri S&T offers degrees in engineering, the sciences, liberal arts, humanities and business, with master’s and Ph.D. programs available in many of the science and engineering programs and master’s degrees in biological sciences, business administration and technical communication. With nearly 9,000 students enrolled online and on campus, Missouri S&T is big enough to accommodate a diverse population but small enough for individuals to stand out.
