Job description: The University of Arizona seeks a specialist in Russian literature and culture (20th c to present); with an innovative research agenda and strong teaching record. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and demonstrated excellence in a variety of methodologies including blended learning technologies preferred. Ability and willingness to teach at all levels: Russian literature, language and culture, as well as general education courses. Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary interests, as well as secondary interest in Eastern Europe and/or Eurasia, preferred. Visiting faculty are expected to teach three courses per semester, maintain an active research agenda, and perform appropriate service.

The Department of Russian & Slavic Studies is a dynamic unit actively engaged in undergraduate education through its double-track Russian major and its contribution to the University’s general education mission. The department has an excellent MA program, and engages the local and global community through experiential learning, faculty presentations, and Study Abroad programs.

The candidate will contribute to the department’s mission by engaging students through excellence in teaching and contributing to research-based learning initiatives, expanding and supporting community and business partnerships, and contributing to fostering and maintaining interdisciplinary synergies across colleges and units.
