Flagship Program Lecturer in Russian
The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies and the Russian Flagship Center at the University of Georgia invite applications for the position of Russian Flagship Program Lecturer. The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 load of intensive, proficiency-oriented undergraduate Russian language courses at all levels. These courses may include individual and small-group Russian language tutoring. Additional responsibilities will include assisting the Flagship Program Directors with the development of the Russian Flagship curriculum and with Russian proficiency assessments.
The appointment will begin January 1, 2019.
The federally-funded Language Flagship programs seek to prepare students who will take their place among the next generation of global professionals, commanding a superior level of proficiency in languages critical to competitiveness and security for the United States. This position is currently funded through the academic year 2019-2020. Its continuation is contingent upon renewal of the federal grant.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Russian/Slavic Studies, second language acquisition, language pedagogy, or a closely related field a record of proven excellence in teaching Russian native or near-native fluency in both Russian and English.
