The University wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer with broad-ranging intellectual interests and outstanding academic record in Russian Studies. The Senior Lecturer will be expected to take a leading role in the running and development of the Russian section, assuming the role of Head of Russian from September 2019 (or shortly thereafter).

The ideal candidate will also be able to offer expertise in one of the following fields: Politics, Language-learning & Language Policy, Decolonisation/Post-colonisation studies, visual arts, gender studies. They will have an outstanding record of publication; experience of providing research leadership; and a record of winning funding for research and/or knowledge exchange activities. Applicants will also have a proven track record of teaching excellence and innovation in curriculum development, student support and a commitment to leadership in these areas.

This is a full time and open-ended post. The successful appointee will commence on 1st September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary: Grade UE09 – £51,630 to £58,089 per annum.
