Internship: Summer Research Fellowship on Russian Culture (Carnegie Mellon)

Deadline for Applications: Ongoing Until Filled

Professors Simon Dedeo (Social and Decision Sciences, Carnegie Mellon University) and Tatyana Gershkovich are looking for a student or recent alum to help work on a project analyzing two corpuses of Russian and Soviet diaries and letters. This position is ideal for undergraduate or pre-doctoral students with an academic career in mind and looking to enter the culture analytics space. The goal of this work is a peer-reviewed paper, and they hope to involve the student at a high intellectual level.

This is a full-time, paid position in Pittsburgh with flexible start dates in the summer period. Russian-language skills are required, as is familiarity with Python or the willingness to learn quickly. The project has an active and friendly research group with (in addition to graduate researchers) three pre-doctoral fellows and an undergraduate researcher working on different projects; it’s a supportive environment for both intellectual development and social life.

Women and under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply.

Please contact tgershko@andrew.cmu.edu and sdedeo@andrew.cmu.edu if the position is of interest.
