Call for Proposals: Thematic Block Proposals, International Congress of Slavists (Paris, France)

Deadline: May 1, 2021

The 2023 International Congress of Slavists will be held in Paris, at the Sorbonne (exact dates TBA). A major goal of the International Committee of Slavists for this next Congress is to increase the number of presentations in literature and culture, which have been underrepresented in the recent past.

At this time, the International Committee of Slavists invites applications for thematic blocks for the 2023 International Congress. The application deadline is *May 1, 2021.*
The calls for individual papers and roundtables will be issued next year.

Application instructions:
A thematic block should consist of 3–8 participants. The presentations may be in any languages, but there may not be more than 2 participants from the same country in a single thematic block.Thematic blocks consist of an opening 20-minute presentation, followed by 15-minute presentations. The block organizer must submit a description of the proposed thematic block itself, and of each of the presentations (2 pages, c. 1,000 characters), directly to Temblok2023@orange.fr by May 1, 2021.

The 2023 Congress organizers have been planned to send the national committees a model proposal form for thematic blocks, but it has not gone out yet. Once the American Committee of Slavists receives it, it will be posted on the our webpage (https://linguistics.uoregon.edu/american-committee-slavists).

The International Committee of Slavists website about the Congress should be up in December 2020. Once it is up, we will set up a link to it from the American Committee of Slavists webpage.
