The University of Central Asia seeks to fill in a full-time position at the Institute of Public Policy and Administration. In your role as a Research Assistant, you will be contributing to IPPA’s research and training projects in the area of economic and social studies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Research Fellow is expected to carry out the following duties:
  • Assist IPPA project staff in its various functions, including project support, document drafting and research assistance;
  • Work with financial reporting programs;
  • Collect and process qualitative and quantitative information related to the economic and social development of the Central Asian countries through desk research and relevant communications with national and international stakeholders;
  • Draft research papers and reports as required;
  • Update material on a regular basis for the University’s electronic library and databases;
  • Assist IPPA staff with different logistical and organizational activities.

Viadrina International Program for Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Researchers (European University Viadrina)

We are glad to announce that the Viadrina International Program – for Graduates (VIP) as a funding program for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers has funds for the year 2022. The program is funded by the European University Viadrina and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The VIP aims to support the international networking of doctoral candidates and their stronger involvement in international research contexts and discourses.

International doctoral candidates may apply for research stays in 2022 at the European University Viadrina to get familiarize with the research environment at the Viadrina. These fellowships allow international doctoral candidates to get in touch with Viadrina professors for research co-operations or potential doctoral opportunities (e.g. joint degrees and cotutelle agreements). We are an education company that runs 2+2 transfer pathway programs located in California and Virginia. The programs help international students with every aspect of life inside and outside of school for the first two years of their US college experience. We then assist with guaranteed transfer admissions to 5 of the Top 40 US universities through our community college partnerships.

The Job: You will be responsible for the academic progress, retention and eventual success of our cohort of international students who attend University Bridge @ Irvine Valley College (our program in affiliation with the Irvine Valley College). This includes both planned and ad-hoc meetings with students to answer questions related to their current needs, as well as future transfer planning, usually within the UC or CSU systems. In addition, the associate director will be responsible for prompt reporting of general student updates and issues to families and other UBridge employees. Services are not a replacement of, rather a complement to, existing services provided by the college.

The Department of Russian Language and Area Studies at St. Olaf College invites applications for a full-time, two-year visiting faculty position at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor, to begin August 2022. We seek a gifted and enthusiastic language and area studies instructor with a commitment to mentoring undergraduate students and enthusiasm for supporting the growth of the Russian Language and Area Studies on our campus.Position Description:

A Ph.D. in Russian language or literature or a related field is preferred. Candidates will teach both language and area studies courses. Language classes can range from beginning through advanced culture-centered language courses including our fourth-year language capstone course. In addition to traditional language and literature, courses related to gender studies, diversity issues in Russia or the environment are especially encouraged. Teaching load is six courses with two to four area studies classes per year. The college follows a 4-1-4 calendar.
