UT Drupal Kit 2.24 Release

ITS is happy to announce the immediate availability of UT Drupal Kit 2.24.0, the latest maintenance release for our University distribution of the Drupal web content management system. This release includes an update to Drupal core, and several contrib module updates. The built-in demo page for the optional Foundation elements has also been updated to show the accessible markup option for creating accordions.

DRUPAL CORE UPDATE

The 2.24 release incorporates the most recent release of Drupal Core, bringing it up to the latest version (7.72).

CONTRIB UPDATES

The 2.24 release includes updates to the following contrib modules:

UPDATED EXAMPLE MARKUP FOR ACCORDIONS

The Forty Acres theme includes options to enable Foundation elements for special content use cases, such as accordions. The demo page included in each site that shows example markup for each optional element has been updated to show Foundation’s “unordered list” approach instead of the older “definition list” approach, which has some inherent accessibility problems.

Updated instructions for creating accessible accordions are also now available in the UT Drupal Kit documentation wiki.

HOW TO UPDATE THE UT DRUPAL KIT

Complete instructions and download links for updating a UT Drupal Kit site are available on the documentation wiki. Pantheon site dashboards that use the UT Drupal Kit distribution should see the upstream updates available now; see the Pantheon documentation for more information on applying upstream updates.

Please review the changelog thoroughly, and always make backups of your code, files, and database before proceeding with an update!
