Farid Khosravikia (فرید خسروی کیا)
– Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)
– President of The University of Texas at Austin EERI Student Chapter
Summary: Farid joined the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin after completing his bachelor and master at Sharif University of Technology in Iran. His main research interests have centered around improving resilience and functionality of urban systems to seismic hazards. Specific areas of interest include: (1) Application of deep learning techniques on characterizing seismic hazard of urban areas, especially in areas subjected to potentially induced seismic hazards. (2) Structural reliability and risk analysis of built environments (3) Network analyses and systems engineering of urban infrastructures for Infrastructure-level risk and resilience based decision making in terms of post-earthquake response and planning for future seismic events. He is currently working on seismic risk and resilience based assessment of highway bridge networks as a graduate research assistant (GRA) at The University of Texas at Austin.
