Aaron Groth, current PhD student in the Department of Geography and the Environment, was one of five Returned Peace Corps Volunteers to be invited to sit on a panel in celebration of Peace Corps Week. As a Peace Corps volunteer, Aaron spent over four years in Peru working on community-based environmental management. He also spent a fifth year in-country as a community conservation specialist with the Upper Amazon Conservancy. Panelists shared stories of their overseas experiences, challenges and rewards of service. Aaron further shared his Peace Corps experiences with the Geography Society of UT Austin! For his talk, Aaron presented on his Peace Corps Service, his work on natural resource use with Upper Amazon Conservancy, and his MA thesis research. During the 45 minute presentation, he also discussed Peruvian culture. Discussion was ollowed by 15 minutes of Q&A.
