Manojkumar Lokanathan | President
Manoj is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering – Thermal Fluid Sciences. As Financial Director, Manoj hopes to contribute to successful academic and social programs for UT’s graduate engineering students. He likes to watch Netflix, read comics, play soccer and watch live bands.
Erick Jones | Vice-President
Erick Jones is a third year PhD student studying Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. Erick researches how to build and operate cost-effective, sustainable, healthy, and resilient communities in urban and rural environments. He received a BS in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also worked in the oil and gas and HVAC industries for three years before completing an MS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from UT Austin. When he is not researching or studying, Erick enjoys sports, board games, dancing, and social functions.
Julia M Lamb | Secretary
Julia is a third year Chemical Engineering PhD student working in the Manthiram battery lab. She served as GAIN co-director last year. Julia is currently serving her second term as GEC secretary. In her free time, Julia enjoys dancing at the Fed, attempting to learn Chinese, and playing games of all types.
Sivasakthya Mohan | Financial Director
Siva (Sivasakthya) Mohan is a second-year graduate student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. She is working on fabrication of suspended 2D material membranes for optical applications. She is currently manaing GEC financial affairs. In her free time, she is an Indian classical dancer and also enjoys cooking.
Enakshi Wikramanayake | Mechanical Engineering Representative & President Emerita
Enakshi is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering. Her research is in thermal fluids systems, applying it to power generation and water and thermal management. Enakshi was a director of GAIN (Graduate And Industry Networking) 2017, an event where graduate students network with corporate representatives and showcase their research. Enakshi is still very involved with GEC. She hopes to develop new academic and outreach projects through GEC and increase graduate student involvement and participation in all GEC events.
Philip White | Vice President Emeritus
Philip White is a fourth-year, PhD Student. His research concerns how Texans use electricity and what improvements can be made to improve/economize consumption. Philip still helps out with GEC by planning and prepping GEC events. He hopes that his work in GEC will create a more fun, accessible, and beneficial atmosphere for graduate students in the Cockrell School of Engineering. In his free time, Philip can be found running around Hyde Park, rolling 20 sided dice with friends, reading a great book, or travelling.
