Work in Dr. Ghosh’s lab focuses on biologically-inspired, rational design of biomolecules (i.e. antibodies and peptides) and nanoscale materials for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. One area of emphasis is the development of novel fluorescence nanoparticles to improve early detection, guided surgical interventions, and monitoring of therapy regimens. Another long-term goal of the lab is to engineer particle systems able to overcome the complex transport barriers presented by solid tumors for improved delivery and uptake of imaging agents and therapeutics.
