Academic and scientific conferences play an important role for researchers and providers to network, present on their work, and exchange ideas and best practices that can ensure advancements are being made. The Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness believes that these opportunities are specifically important when looking at military and veteran-focused research and practice. The unique needs, experiences, cultural implications, and systems surrounding the military and veteran community highlight the need for multisector, collaborative opportunities among researchers, providers, and stakeholders.
Military Social Work & Behavioral Health Conference
July 20-24, 2020
The 2020 conference took place during the week of July 20th, 2020. This event was hosted in an effort to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure innovative and effective systems of care, while providing tools and resources to strengthen and streamline mental and behavioral health care to military and veteran communities. While we do not have a date set for our next iteration of this conference, we hope to continue similar offerings in the future.
The 1st Annual Partnerships for Veteran & Military Health: Inspiring a Community of Care and Connections will offer an exchange of knowledge and sharing of experiences that will enable attendees to improve the care and assistance provided to Veterans/Military Service Members, and their families. Organizers are currently accepting abstracts on innovative practices, partnerships, research, and clinical topics related to the health and welfare of Veterans, Military Service Members, and their families.
