Riya Sreenivasan, BSA is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science and Arts degree in Biology. She joined the Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness in September 2019 as an intern from the Dell Health Leadership Apprenticeship (HLA) Program. The HLA program is Dell Medical School’s undergraduate internship program, where students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and staff to further health care innovation and transformation.
Riya supports the Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness by assisting with the development of current and future research studies, analyzing data, and discovering process improvement initiatives for the program. She is very passionate about improving mental healthcare, especially in veteran populations, and aims to continue doing research in the field throughout the course of her career. In addition, Riya aspires to be a physician and will be attending medical school in the Fall of 2020. In her free time, she loves exploring the Austin music scene, learning about different cultures, and experimenting with cooking.
