Marcia Kiger earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from our University of Texas College of Pharmacy in 1982. Subsequently, she earned a teaching credential from California State University San Bernardino. She has worked in all areas of pharmacy practice throughout the U.S. for 20 years, and has taught elementary school for 5 years. Presently she also works in a retail setting at HEB Pharmacy as a float pharmacist to enhance current practices teaching to her class.
Prof. Kiger has taught Pharmacy Experiential Practice & Patient Counseling at the University of Texas since 2002. She has been nominated for Teacher Excellence by her P2 students numerous times, and achieved that award in 2013.
Ms. Kiger has served on the DUR Board for Texas Medicaid Bureau, and is the Faculty Advisor for “Know Your Medicines,” a unique initiative at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas.
Currently, Professor Kiger’s interests focus on communication development and patient counseling enhancement.
