Intern at the Pew Hispanic Center in DC

The internship is meant to be a summer deal for an undergraduate or recent graduate who knows to use some statistical tools and is interested in studying Hispanics. It doesn’t pay a whole lot ($13/hour), but could be interesting for someone wanting to complete an independent research project. Here’s the job posting: http://pewresearch.org/docs/?DocID=10006

The application will be open until Friday, May 20.

Please let Stacey or Linda know if you plan applying, so we can put you in touch with the LAH alum working at Pew!

LAH Mentor Application

Hey LAHers,

It’s that time of the year again, and we’re not talking about finals: we’re here to ask for volunteers to be mentors to our incoming 2011-2012 LAH freshman class. Help freshmen navigate the craziness of their first year by providing support and some social activities!

We know that everyone is crazy-busy with end-of-the-year exams and general ridiculousness, so the application process is fairly easy. All you have to do to apply is fill out the mentoring application and send it in to LAHmentors@gmail.com by Monday, May 12. We’ll let you know before summer break if you’re chosen to be a mentor. Then you await for the email of your assigned mentees. Once you get that contact them and let the fun begin!

Please, please consider volunteering for this. It’s not a big time commitment, and you’ll get to spend time with some amazing LAHers. Without volunteers like you, the LAH mentoring program wouldn’t be possible.
