Digital Scholarship Lab

The Digital Scholarship Lab, a joint UT Libraries and College of Liberal Arts initiative to build the technical capacity of students, faculty, and staff and facilitate the digital analysis of Benson holdings, opened on January 31st of 2018. The Digital Scholarship Office is building on the success of the LLILAS Benson Digital Scholarship Workshops and extending its training to all those interested in integrating computational methods and digital
special collections to their research and teaching.

The DS staff provides consultations on individual research projects ranging from the exploratory/conceptual to the final stage and the use of digital tools/methods, and special collections to facilitate, reinvigorate, and transform research and teaching. We also train on specific digital tools used in research and analysis, methods for applied-use of digital special collection assets, and the introduction of digital tools and content into curricula.

Our hours are Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm.  Feel free to stop by during our drop-in hours Tuesdays, 9am to 11am and Friday 11am to 2pm. Students working on digital scholarship projects can also reserve our iMacs workstations or space by appointment (please make these requests a week in advance).

In your email to the Digital Scholarship Lab Team, please include: name, date, time, area of research, and specific needs (consultation and/or software training).
