The Center for Global Business (CGB) is a resource center for international business education. Since its origin in 1990 as one of the Department of Education’s Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the Center for Global Business has been an incubator for innovation in international education at the McCombs School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin, and across the United States.
Not only has the Center created nearly every major international business program at McCombs (including our exchange and double degree programs with a network of top-tier foreign business schools), it has also developed materials to facilitate more rapid and transformative learning from international experiences for both students at UT and at other colleges and universities across the United States. In addition, the Center has launched new courses and curriculum, funded faculty research, held countless seminars and workshops for educators, students, administrators, and businesses. Additionally, the Center has assembled data for the Department of Education to gauge the impact of funding on international business education across the country.
Most recently, the Center has launched the Longhorn Global BizNetwork, a global network that allows students, faculty, alumni and other engaged business leaders to connect, to share information and expertise, and to benefit from a direct relationship to the wider Longhorn community.
