Deborah Cohen, Ph.D., MSW

Deborah Cohen (she/her), Ph.D., MSW, is a mental health services researcher and policy expert. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Dell Medical School and a research assistant professor in the Steve Hicks School of Social Work Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health. Dr. Cohen is the Executive Director of the Amplify Center and the Co-Director of the Center for Youth Mental Health.

Dr. Cohen’s research focuses on reforming the public mental health system with a specific focus on programs and policies that improve access to mental health for adolescents and young adults at risk for serious mental illness. She was a local site investigator for the original RA1SE study and serves as a Co-investigator for the EPINET-TX project. See her full bio for additional information.
