Peter Arellano

Peter Arellano received his undergrad degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Social Work-Administrative Leadership from Texas State University-San Marcos.  Peter is the Program Director for the Forensic Diversion Technical Assistance program and works to develop and manage forensic mental health diversion programs in communities across Texas.

He’s had an extensive career in mental health, including with justice-involved and unhoused populations. His experiences include program and project management, grant and contract oversight, teaching, administration, and clinical services. He has been with TIEMH since 2015 and has worked in various roles at the institute.

Peter enjoys traveling, finding new restaurants, trying new cuisines, and cheering on the Longhorns at sporting events.
