Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF) at The University of Texas at Austin started with, “Will you pray for me?”
Midway through sophomore year, crushed between anatomy and microbiology, a few members of the class of 2020 came to appreciate supportive community in completely new ways. Students began reaching out to each other for help more and more often. Among the help needed was the need for prayer, to vent, and to be encouraged by Christ’s love.
After an informal prayer meeting, it became obvious that officially gathering together as Christian nurses could be uniquely edifying.
Two nursing students, Grace and Zana, began individually envisioning a community of nursing student believers who could help each other academically, emotionally, and spiritually. An offhand comment became a partnership and the beginnings of NCF at UT.
Nurses Christian Fellowship is a section of the Intervarsity Ministries created in 1948 to empower Christian nurses. With support from the Intervarsity and National NCF team, a local chapter began at The University of Texas at Austin in August 2018. Everyone is welcome at NCF to step into an incredible Christ-centered community.
We hope you’ll let us pray for you.
