Becky Walker, ’19, is the President of OUTLaw. Becky is originally from Ovilla, Texas and went to UT for undergrad as well (hook ’em) where she majored in Biology and Linguistics, and minored in Italian. Over the summer, Becky worked in Anchorage, Alaska at the Alaska Department of Law in the Child Protection section. Becky is also involved in the Women’s Law Caucus, the Environmental Law Society, as well as various pro bono projects. In her free time, Becky likes to hike, read, go to live shows, and play with her friends’ pets.
Noah McLaughlin, ’18, is the Internal Vice-President. Noah is an Austin native and a graduate of Southwestern University with a Bachelors in English. Before coming to law school, Noah was a copy editor for Pearson on the STAAR test. Noah worked as a clerk at Disability Rights Texas over the previous summer. Noah is also involved with the Journal of Women, Gender, and the Law and multiple pro bono projects.
Marissa Jeffery, ’19, is the External Vice-President. She is a dual degree student at the Law School and the LBJ School of Public Affairs. From New Mexico originally, she studied English and Gender Studies at Barnard College before moving to Texas to teach with Teach for America. She is also on the board of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice. She likes hot yoga, progressive politics in Texas, and her dogs.

Wesley Hartman, ’18, is the Communications Director. They graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2015 with a major in vocal performance. At UT Law, they are also involved with the Review of Litigation and are a Pro Bono Scholar working for the INCLUDE Project and Expunction Project.
Co-Pro Bono Director
Ashley Craythorne, ’19, is one of the Co Pro-Bono Directors. She came to law school to become a public interest lawyer, and is interested in public defense and immigration law. She spent her 1L summer at a juvenile public defenders office in New Orleans, and is looking forward to participating in the Immigration Clinic at UT. She loves to play music (guitar and ukulele) and has recently gotten into cross-stitching! She also has a dog named Gumbo and you can find them at the Yard Bar on any given weekend.
Co-Pro Bono Director
Taylor Schmitt, ’19, is one ofthe Co-Pro Bono Directors. Taylor is from San Antonio and received his BA in English from Abilene Christian University and his MA in Sexual Dissidence in Literature and Culture from the University of Sussex. Before coming to law school, Taylor enjoyed Netflix binges and exploring Austin’s many fine margaritas. Over this last summer, he worked with the ACLU of Texas in its Dallas office. He is also involved with if/when/how and the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights.
Queer Graduate Student Alliance Liaison
Alexandra Jones-Lafont ’19, is the Queer Graduate Student Alliance Liaison. In 2016, she graduated from Baylor University with a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science. At UT Law, Alexandra is involved with the Trans Name and Gender Marker Project, If/When/How, and the Texas International Law Journal. In her spare time, Alexandra enjoys traveling back to her home in southern Louisiana and cooking good food.
