THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING WHERE TO LIVE
Students will likely have rotations in both Harlingen and McAllen, and in other cities in the area. Driving time between the two aforementioned cities is 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Student meetings will take place on the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley campus in Edinburg.
BASE CAMPUS/WHERE STUDENTS WILL GATHER FOR MEETINGS
All group meetings, practical examinations and orientations are coordinated through the Cooperative Pharmacy Program at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley campus.
AVAILABILITY OF SERVICES ON AFFILIATED CAMPUS
An overview of student services available to PharmD students on the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley campus may be found at the following locations: These services include, student health, library access to both libraries at UTRGV and the RAHC facility as well as information about visitor and student parking regulations.
The RGV program offers a variety of sites and training opportunities for students. The multi-cultural diversity of sites and preceptors is clearly one of the strong points. Another point is the exposure that students are afforded to potential employers in an area where there has been a tremendous amount of growth in population.
