Biographical Information

Dr. Kattura is a Clinical Pharmacist at the Austin State hospital. As a clinical pharmacist, Dr Kattura participates in direct patient care as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and provides weekly medication education groups. The patient population she works with suffers a variety of psychiatric disorders such as depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She also completes psychopharmacology consults when requested by the physicians at the hospital. In addition to her patient care responsibilities, Dr Kattura staffs in the ASH pharmacy and precepts PharmD students and PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy residents on rotation.

Dr. Kattura attained her PharmD. degree at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY2 in Residency Psychiatric Pharmacy in combination with a Masters of Science in Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin and its affiliated institutions (Austin State Hospital, Seton Shoal Creek, Temple VA and City of Austin Community Clinics). She is board certified in psychiatric pharmacy.

Prior to her current position at the Austin State Hospital, Dr Kattura held positions at the University of Texas-College of Pharmacy and at Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC), Fort Hood, TX as a clinical assistant professor and clinical pharmacist respectively. During her tenure at CRDAMC Dr. Kattura was named Clinical Pharmacist of the year for FY 2009 and 2012 and received the 2010 Mel Liter Clinical Pharmacist Award.

Dr. Kattura is a member of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP). Locally, Dr. Kattura sits on the planning committee for the annual UT-Psych Update conference and volunteers at Samaritan Health Ministries Clinic, a local free clinic for the indigent Outside of work, she likes to exercise outdoors, spend time with family and friends and occasionally experiment in the kitchen.
