Welcome to the official website of the Student Bar Association at The University of Texas School of Law. Please check out our Facebook page here and follow us on instagram @ UT_SBA.
The Texas Law Student Bar Association is the student government of the law school and acts as a liaison between the student body, the law school administration, and the University of Texas student government, and administration. The SBA is governed by a Board of Governors, consisting of the executive officers, representatives from each class year, two ABA representatives, two State Bar representatives, a media coordinator, and a UT Senate representative.
In addition to selling lockers, the SBA coordinates social events such as weekly “bar reviews,” the Ex Parte Halloween Party, and the Spring Casino Night Formal (Barrister’s Ball). The SBA also hosts career panels, ethics panels, Texas Law Week, solicits input from students on student-faculty committees, and so much more!
The Student Bar Association is also a policy-making board and acts as a liaison between the student body, the law school administration, and the University of Texas student government and administration. The dean regularly seeks input from the Board of Governors on policy matters, and the SBA has sponsored open forums with the administration to discuss issues concerning law students. In addition, the SBA selects and solicits reports from the students who currently serve on the student-faculty committees at the school.
The SBA Board of Governors staffs the SBA office (TNH 2.127) each Monday through Thursday from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Feel free to stop by the office anytime, or contact your Board representative.
