This camp is one of the main highlights of SWE Outreach in the fall. Hours of preparation go into creating six different activities that students must complete in pairs. Then, in teams, they must work together to design a plan to save their cities using the knowledge they have acquired from their paired challenges. They present their final proposal at the end of the day. During the day camp, volunteers guide the girls as they work to devise their own solutions to real-life problems. Each volunteer is a role model and mentor to a small group of girls. The purpose of the camp is to have young girls realize that the STEM field presents a myriad of opportunities for them to contribute to the world by helping others.
