With over 14,000 attendees at the WE17 Conference, the Society of Women Engineers annual National Conference is the largest conference for women in engineering and technology. These conferences are opportunities for UT SWE to interact with collegiate and professional engineers from all around the world, in all stages of their careers. Attendees leave conference with the understanding of the mission of SWE and take-aways of new ideas and knowledge.
During the three-day conference, attendees participate in hands-on workshops which highlight topics from outreach to personal development. Additionally, they engage with recruiters at the SWE Career Fair which boasts over 175 diverse exhibitors, including many companies who do not attend UT’s Fall or Spring EXPO’s. Many UT SWE members have received internship and full-time offers from successful networking and interviewing.
While exploring the host city and attending conference, UT SWE members can gain leadership skills, industry connections, and lasting friendships. The ability to get to know other members on a more personal level outside of school creates close bonds and a stronger sense of community.
This year, SWE’s WE18 National Conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from October 17-20. Visit their WE18 website to learn more information.
