With over 9000 attendees, the Society of Women Engineers annual Society Conference is the largest conference for women in engineering and technology. It is an opportunity for UT SWE to interact with collegiate and professional engineers from all around the world in all stages of their careers. Attendees leave conference understanding the mission of SWE and take away a plethora of new ideas and knowledge.
During the three day conference, attendees can participate in hands-on workshops that highlight everything from outreach to personal development. In addition, they can engage with recruiters at the career fair which boasts over 175 diverse exhibitors, including many that do not attend UT’s Fall EXPO. Several UT SWE members have received internship and full-time offers from successful networking and interviewing.
While exploring the city and attending conference, UT SWE members can gain leadership skills, industry connections, and lasting friendships. The ability to get to know other members on a more personal level outside of school creates close bonds and a stronger sense of community.
This year’s SWE Society Conference will be held in Austin, Texas (hook em!) from October 26-28. Visit their WE17 website to learn more information.
