The Thomas Frederic Bush Scholarship is awarded to the son or daughter of an ordained clergyman within the Protestant Episcopal Church who is engaged in the ministry of this church in the state of Texas. Within this group of eligible applicants, priority is given first, to the son or daughter of the Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco, Texas, if any, and second, to the son or daughter of a duly ordained clergyman engaged in the work of the church within the Diocese of Texas. Applicant(s) must be recommended by the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Scholarship may be awarded on a non-need basis.
How to Apply
- Complete the UT Austin Continuing & Transfer Scholarship Application by March 15 to be considered. (Application opens in early November.)
- Demonstrate financial need by applying for need-based financial aid by January 15 using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Request a recommendation letter from the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas verifying the applicant’s relationship to an eligible clergyman. Must be received in the Office of Financial Aid by March 15.
