March 16th, 2015 — SOC Advising
Join Campus Events + Entertainment Mexican American Culture, Distinguished Speakers, the Longhorn League of Latin American Citizens, Latino Community Affairs, and Center for Mexican American Studies for the César Chávez Legacy Dinner. The event aims to honor Mexican-American farm worker and labor leader César Chávez for his contributions in the field of civil rights. As a common man with an uncommon vision, César Chávez stood for equality, justice and dignity for all Americans. His universal principals remain as relevant and inspiring today as they were when he first began his movement.
The César Chávez Legacy Dinner will be held on March 31st, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Shirley Bird Perry Ballroom at the Texas Union and consist of a four-course buffet dinner and a series of speakers, concluding with this year’s keynote speaker, Marc Grossman. Grossman was the former personal aide and press secretary of César Chávez. This year, we are pleased to announce that a special art exhibition highlighting Latino and Chicano culture, social justice, and community will precede the dinner program.
If interested in attending, please RSVP below to secure a seat and dinner plate. Note: the art exhibit does not require an RSVP, but the dinner program does. Please send any questions to event coordinator Diana Padilla: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Click on the following Eventbrite link to register. Only information required is your full name and email. A UT picture ID will be required for entry.

On this site you will be able to get the most up-to-date information about all undergraduate Sociology organizations at the University of Texas at Austin, including (eventually) a description of each organization, membership requirements, contact information, and event updates.
This site is still very new, so stay tuned for more!
