Christmas finds new form in the city whose architects defined modern American design. The Chicago Tribune challenged area architects to design gingerbread houses that not only celebrate the season but Chicago’s architectural legacy as well. The resulting designs explore a range of architectural styles and even attempt to address concerns of the green building movement.
The projects featured in the Tribune will be auctioned off online to benefit Chicago Tribune Charities. Bids can be submitted through midnight tomorrow, December 15th at chicagotribune.com/auction. Proceeds will assist programs serving such basic needs as hunger and housing, family development, and reading and literacy skills.
