The BMW Guggenheim Urban Lab opened in New York’s East Village earlier this month. For this project, the Guggenheim teamed up with BMW to create a public space that facilitates greater community participation in the development of innovative solutions for urban issues, specifically . Designed by Tokyo firm Atelier Bow-Wow and currently wedged in between two East Village tenements, this is the first of three temporary structures that will travel from New York to Berlin and later Mumbai on a nine-city tour that will explore issues confronting urban environments around the globe.  For more see this article in the New York Times.
