What happens during a child’s earliest years deeply impacts the child throughout the entire lifespan. From the prenatal period through early childhood, children experience vitally important periods of brain development in which neural connections develop and strengthen, providing the foundation for subsequent growth and development. Early experiences, positive and negative, deeply matter for children’s long-term development, health, and success.
The University of Texas System EARLY CHILDHOOD SCHOLARS SERIES is a unique opportunity to access current research from some of the nation’s leading scholars studying the prenatal to age 8 developmental period.
In recognition of the expansive and rigorous early childhood work amongst its leading faculty, The University of Texas System of eight academic and six health institutions is hosting a learning series for researchers, policymakers, and the early childhood field.
The series is free and open to the public. Registration for each webinar is separate, and linked below when scheduled.
The UT System Early Childhood Scholars Series is coordinated by the Child and Family Research Partnership (CFRP) at The University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs. CFRP and its national Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center are directed by the UT System Early Childhood Steering Committee chair Dr. Cynthia Osborne.
The University of Texas System (UT System) is one of the nation’s largest systems of higher education, with 14 institutions with over 21,000 faculty that educate nearly 240,000 students.
