Connecting Veteran Spouses in their Communities
Veteran Spouse Resiliency Groups (V-SRG) provide a safe space for veteran spouses and partners of veterans to come together, listen, share their stories, and lean on one another for support and guidance. These groups connect veteran spouses to their communities by providing strong peer support. This peer support is available to veteran spouses who face a diverse and unique set of experiences and challenges ranging from caring for their own mental, emotional, and physical health, to parenting, relationship, and career health, discussing the lingering effects of service, and how to support their veterans in seeking help.
This program was created for veteran spouses, by veteran spouses, and aims to provide a space where spouses and partners can gather with others who have a shared experience, and be provided support without judgment. If you have been looking for a strong community of spouses, this is it! Join us!
The program follows a unique peer-to-peer model:
- Trained veteran spouses and/or committed partners facilitate groups of 6-8 spouses
- Groups meet once a week for two hours over 12 weeks (unless otherwise specified)
- Curriculum topics range from “Taking Care of Ourselves” and “Sharing Our Stories,” to “Love and Relationships,” and “The Lingering Effects of Service”

Spring 2021 Groups:
We are still solidifying details for our Spring groups, and groups will be added to the website as details are confirmed. The majority of our groups will remain virtual, though it is our hope that some groups will be able to meet in-person. This will depend on updates related to the safety of in-person events, as outlined by national, state, and local officials.

UPDATE RE COVID-19: We are currently exploring the possibility of some in-person sites in Texas. We are committed to prioritizing the safety of all of our group members and leaders and will determine the status of in-person groups with that in mind. If we opt to offer any in-person groups, site and program protocols will be available here to ensure participants can make an educated decision.
